FIOR Media is committed to responsible, values-driven production. We are proud members of the
Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) and signatories to the Producing for the Planet
Commitment of Actions — a pledge to reduce the environmental footprint of our productions and
support a more sustainable screen industry.
MARSHA NEWBERY
Marsha Newbery is an active leader in the Canadian production industry, bringing both creative and
institutional expertise to her work at FIOR Media.
Canadian Media Producers Association, Board of Directors:
Marsha currently serves on the National Board of the CMPA, representing the interests of
independent producers across Canada at the highest level of the association's governance.
She previously served on the CMPA Labour Negotiations Committee on behalf of Thunderbird
Entertainment, representing the company in collective bargaining with Canada's major artist unions
and guilds.

Marsha is also the founder and Executive Director of Producing for the Planet, an industry initiative dedicated to embedding
environmental sustainability into Canadian screen production. The initiative has galvanized producers
across the country to commit to measurable action on climate, reflecting her belief that how we make
stories matters as much as the stories we tell.
CAROLYN SCHMIDT
Carolyn Schmidt's commitment to purposeful storytelling runs through both her professional
memberships and her personal giving. As a writer, director, and producer of feature documentaries
exploring housing, mental wellness, and parks preservation, she has spent her career using the screen
to illuminate issues that matter.
Canadian Media Producers Association:
Carolyn is a member in good standing of the Canadian Media Producers Association, Canada's leading
association for independent producers.
Story Money Impact Fund:
Since 2022, Carolyn has been a contributing donor to the Story Money Impact Fund, which supports
documentary filmmakers telling stories of social consequence. Her giving reflects a long-held
conviction that impact-driven storytelling deserves sustained investment — both on screen and off.
